COSMO Models Removed from Weather Maps

COSMO-5M and COSMO-2I have been removed from Weather Maps. For Italy and the Alps, ICON_I2 now covers the same region at a comparable resolution.

COSMO-5M covered Central Europe at 5 km, hourly, with a 72-hour horizon. COSMO-2I covered Italy and the Alps at 2 km, hourly, with a 48-hour horizon. Both were run by the Consortium for Small-scale Modelling and have been deprecated.

What to change

For the Italy and Alps region, ICON_I2, the Italian 2 km ICON model, now provides equivalent coverage. For Central Europe, check the model overview for a domain of comparable resolution. Saved map views or integrations that selected either domain will no longer return a layer until switched.
