Custom Risk Packages Added to the Forecast API

meteoblue has added Custom Risk Packages to the Forecast API, returning the probability of a hazard condition occurring instead of the raw meteorological values behind it.

The group contains three packages, each available at hourly and daily resolution. Every variable is returned as a probability in percent for the forecast period, and the daily variants report the maximum reached during the day.

What the three packages cover

Risks (risk-1h, risk-day) returns 16 indicators, among them thunderstorm, wildfire, fog, heat stress, frost stress, mould growth, UV stress, atmospheric stagnation, surface condensation, low solar and icing on road, wire, tree and wind turbine. Precipitation Risk (precipitationrisk-1h, precipitationrisk-day) returns precipitation severity classes and snowfall depth exceedance thresholds, including 12-hour and 24-hour incessant variants. Wind Risk (windrisk-1h, windrisk-day) returns wind stress and wind damage by severity class.

Experimental status

These packages are experimental. Available variables, calculation methods and output formats may change more often than in the stable package groups, so an integration built on them should not assume a fixed response schema. The full parameter and variable reference is in the Custom Risk Packages documentation.
